Hi John I can't thank you enough and your employees for always giving us the best information. If I may I would like to add a little bit of information for those who happen to own the Canon T10 bottom tracking downriggers. As you know they do quite a few functions, bottom tracking and cycling and you can adjust the speed and the depth. Well when the fishing started slowing down a week ago I decided to start cycling my downrigger using the Flasher in the picture with a white squid using a 38 in leader and attaching it to the the ball 20 feet behind. I set the downrigger to cycle 10 feet every 10 seconds. I set the speed settings for 2 going down and 3 coming up. I kept my speed at 3 to 3.5 with the tide and 2.5 against the tide keeping the cable at about a 45 angle. Within less than 20 minutes I was getting hits I picked up three fish that I had to release since I was in area nine, my 4 one was a 8 lbs hatchery. So the next two days I went out and followed the same process at times I would go down to 95 to 85 also keeping the speed so that the cable was at about 45 degrees. I was a very successful the next 3 days and the picture is my biggest fish 12.5pounds. When these fish hit there was no question about it the hooks were buried in their mouth. Nice fish! I’ve been wondering how those fancy things work. Coming from a dude with manual riggers

I can see the approach you are using.. fish will fallow a bait or lure without striking, as soon as they see it trying to get away or a different movement they will strike, hence the up and down movement.. nice tactics!
